About Mateo Ferreyra

Mateo Ferreyra grew up in Rosario watching Central and Newell's, which is a decent explanation for why he ended up modelling football instead of playing it. He spent four years at a Buenos Aires consultancy building expected-goals models for Primera División clubs, then moved to the betting side in 2020. His Libertadores group-stage model has tracked every match since the 2021 edition, 1,100 fixtures and counting, and it lives or dies on one thing most European models get wrong: altitude and travel. A Brazilian side flying into La Paz on a Wednesday is not the same team that won 3-0 in São Paulo on the Sunday. At Megapari he owns the football book's editorial line and writes the Libertadores and Liga MX previews. Every handicap quoted on this site gets checked against the real market before it goes up. He works in Spanish, Portuguese and English, which covers about every fixture worth pricing on this continent.
